Steve Hess, Mary Anne Leach, and Gregg Veltri will be our panelists for a discussion led by Michael Kahn. This presentation is part of the monthly CCTSI 2009 / 2010 Informatics Seminar Series, sponsored by the Informatics Core of the Colorado Clinical Translational Science Institute.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear our CIOs’ perspectives on how their operations can support clinical research. There will be plenty of time for audience participation, so come with your questions. The panel discussion will be followed by light refreshments and a chance to socialize with your colleagues.
Steve Hess has been working in Healthcare IT for over 18 years, with many of those years at Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, Delaware. After 5+ years as CIO there, Steve joined University of Colorado Hospital as their CIO on July 13, 2009. Steve's current focus is setting up the structure for and planning the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) at UCH.
Mary Anne Leach is currently Vice President and Chief Information Officer at The Children’s Hospital. Mary Anne has over thirty (30) years leadership experience in healthcare IT (HIT), and is very active in HIT advocacy efforts.
Gregg Veltri is the Chief Information Officer for the Denver Health and Hospital, Colorado’s largest safety net health care systems. Mr. Veltri was recently awarded the 2008 CIO Top 100 Award from CIO Magazine and Computerworld’s Premier 100 award in recognition of his leadership integrating advanced technology solutions in healthcare. Mr. Veltri is a HIMSS Fellow and currently serves on the Board of the Colorado Chapter of HIMSS. He has authored numerous articles and given many presentations on various aspects of Healthcare Information Technology and obtaining value from technology investment.
DIRECTIONS: The Health Sciences Library is located at 12950 East Montview Boulevard, immediately north of historic Building 500. The entrance to the library is on the west side of the building, between the Coffee Shop and the Tower structure.
